Uniforms and patches are at the NEIC Scout Shop in Vernon Hills, at the Kasperson Center for Scouting. You can also order online at scoutshop.org.
Kindergarteners
Kindergarteners wear the official Lion T-shirt. The neckerchief is optional. Belt, pants, and hat are optional too.
The full list of options is on the official Cub Scout uniform page.
1st–4th Graders
1st through 4th graders wear the official blue uniform shirt. Neckerchiefs, belt, pants, and hat are optional.
The Cubmaster will give you the red “28” numeral patch.

You will need two other patches, shown above: the World Crest (purple circle) and an NEIC council patch of your choice (old black and white, new green, or any special versions they make). You will also need the blue Cub Scout loops for the shoulder epaulets (not shown).
The full list of options is on the official Cub Scout uniform page.
5th Graders
5th graders should buy the tan uniform shirt (which is the uniform for Troop 28). Get it a couple sizes larger so that there is room to grow.
The Scoutmaster will give you our custom “28” numeral patch.

You will need three other patches, shown above: the World Crest (purple circle), the Scouting America ring around the circle, and an NEIC council patch of your choice (old black and white, new green, or any special versions they make). You will also need the blue Cub Scout loops for the shoulder epaulets (not shown).
The Arrow of Light Scouting book is optional. Scout belt, pants, hat are also optional — our Pack doesn’t enforce them because often Scouts are coming from sports.
The full list of options is on the official Cub Scout uniform page.
